I really don't know why the AAP (or at least, it's journal, Pediatrics) should even comment on the birthing process; isn't that the domain of the obstetrician? While I believe there should be a firmer link between pregnancy care and mother/infant care (remember the GP?), specifically to support breastfeeding and take an holistic view on mother and infant health, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
